CO PA Report - Adding a contract start date as new characteristic

Hi Guru's,

I am new to CO PA reporting, would really appreciate your help and guidance. I am trying to create a report in KE30 to distinguish new revenue and recurring revenue basis date. (example: sale between 1st Jan to 30th Sept is recurring revenue and sale between 1st Oct and 31st Dec is new revenue)

I cannot see contract start date as a characteristic in my form or my report and I would like to add this field either in form, as a defining criteria. This field resides in table named VEDA. I tried to add a new characteristic in my operating concern using t-code: KEA5., but I do not see this table VEDA in the list of tables for selection.

Would really appreciate your assistance, as this will determine the outcome of the report development.

Thank you,

Rohan.

    Hello Rohan Jumani

The table VEDA that you mentioned is for Comtract related data, whereas typically COPA should capture the Billing related information, since the very purpose of COPA is to determine P&L on various dimensions.

That said, the best approach could be to populate this value in a field on the billing document. Since the information would now be available in VBRK, you should be able to pull it into COPA. Moreever, this information could probably also be used in some of your Logistics related reports as well, if you client looks at this kind of information so much in detail. That would be in my opinion an optimum way to capture the information.

    Hi Rohan

Add on to explained by Mr Sanil for you question.

to answer you question adding the new characteristic in Operating concern will get update in ACDOCA" not sure the table VEDA Table after you run the SAP program in background "FC0_ADD_COPA_FIELD_TO_ACDOCA"

I tried to add a new characteristic in my operating concern using t-code: KEA5., but I do not see this table VEDA in the list of tables for selection.

    • Hi Mansoor Khan, thank you for your reply. Even I do not see VEDA table in the list of tables for adding a new characteristic because it is a contract related table and COPA gives billing related info, as per my understanding from Sanil's reply above.

So if I understand you correctly, if I add a characteristic in ACDOCA table, I will be able to add that into my form? and under which table will this new characteristic appear? or will it be directly updated in my operating concern and I will be able to see it in my form / report?

      Thank you again,

      Rohan
