Number Sign (#) in Operation Short Text Issues

Fellow People,

The number sign (#) had made it into our master data in the 'operation short text'. Two problems realized with having a number sign in the operation (seems to be particularly at the end of the description) is in exporting data and in querying data. First issue is trying to see where those operations are with a query. *# or *#* in the input field of query, doesn't bring it up.

Second and what brought me to discover it, is exporting data. I choose save to a local file unconverted. Every place an operation in CA03 shows a number sign at the end of an operation, my values in my query show a carriage return and misaligns all of my data. I manually fix and move on.

I also noticed when a number sign is displayed in CA03 operation short text, it appears bold as if it has additional attributes.

Please advise on:

1.) A way to query operations with '#' in their description.

2.) A way to export and align the data in Excel OR have the system not break the export. (besides removing # from description)
