process chain - delete request

Hello,

Is it possible to use execute the info pack functionality of "automatic loading of similar/identical requests in info cube" (data targets tab) when using a process chain to execute the info pack?

What are the steps?

Best regards,

Fredrik

Hi,

Yes, in case of fullloads into the infocube, there we can delete the previous request (full load) then ging we load fresh data, it is possible.

Thanks

Hello Reddy and thanx for your reply!

It works fine to execute the info pack manually. Then it first deletes the old full loads and loads the fresh full data load.

But when I use the process chain (in which this info pack is included) I can't get it to work... Then it loads the fresh data without deleting the old...

Any ideas?

Dear Fredrik,

Do u have any other data targets in that info package.

If u have only the Cube, then it will work fine. Otherwise u need to include delete target contents process befor to ur package process.

Hope this helps.

Hello there,

Well, I cannot delete the full content of the cube before the load, because I also load a delta to the same cube (using the same info source but different info pack)...

I only have this data target (with active update rules) in the info pack.

What could be the reason for this? It's a bit strange...

Dear Fredrik,

u need to include delete overlapping requests from info cube process befor deleting the indexes. In that process u can do the deletion selections there.

Thanks!

My original setup of chain is:

1. Delete index (of cube 0PCA_C01)

2. Load data (execute info pack full load)

3. Load data (execute info pack delta load)

4. Create index (for cube 0PCA_C01)

When I create a "delete overlapping..." I get both a "create Index" and also the "request in info cube".

Where should I put in these two new parts? Is the "create Index" necessary again?

Best regards,

Fredrik

No Fredrik, not necessary. u can delete that.

Does the "Delete overlapping Requests" also execute the load of the new data or do I still need the "Load data" task?

Should the "Delete overlapping" be placed before or after "Delete index" (step one)?

Sorry to ask so many questions... I'm new to this...

Best regards,

Fredrik

Dear,

U can delete "load data"process.

And place "delete overlapping..." before "delete index".

SDN is ment for asking questions and to get clarifications. That not a problem.

Hope this helps.

Ok, so now the steps are:

1. Delete request in cube

2. Delete indexes

3. Load data (full load)

4. Load data (delta load)

5. Create indexes

Still I get an error message if I click on (2.):

"Process LOADING variant ZPAK_41D97POCUI5G16NKROIEOGU2Y is referenced but is not a predecessor"

The error message for (3.) is:

"A type "Delete Overlapping Requests from InfoCube process cannot precede process "Execute InfoPackage" var. ZPAK_41D97POCUI5G16"

and...

"Process LOADING variant ZPAK_41D97POCUI5G16NKROIEOGU2Y is referenced but is not a predecessor"

Help please....

Other wise do like this

1.delete index

2.load full

3. load delta.

4. create index.

5. delete request in cube.

Try this now, hope it works fine.

Hello,

The issue is now solved thanks to you!

The process chain is now:

1. Delete indexes

2. Load data (full load)

3. Delete request in cube

4. Load data (delta load)

5. Create indexes

This works perfectly if you modify the "delete request" sub-process a little bit (same delete-settings as in info package)..

I'm extremely greatful for all your patience and help!!

The very best regards,

Fredrik

Hi Fredrik,

IP -> Data Targets Tab -> Against your cube under automatic loading of...., Double click on that and you could set on the pop up screen.

Hello all,

Is there something wrong in my process chain then? I have only added the actual info pack in this. Is it necessary to specify further in the process chain that it should first delete and then load (this is already stated in the actual info pack)?

Comments appreciated...

Best regards,

Fredrik
