Hi guys.
We've noticed that in our productive HANA system, "/dev/shm" filesystem is getting full for a short time period. It only happened twice, but we need to find why it happens and fix it.
- The host only has installed a HANA database, at version "1.00.122.08.1490178281 (fa/hana1sp12)"
- The size of /dev/shm filesystem is 379G
- The RAM memory assigned to this host is 750GB (MemTotal: 794205096 kB)
When we receive the notification from monitoring system (Solution Manager technical monitoring) and we login into the operating system (Suse Linux 11.4), the filesystem usage is only 1% and the is no SAP process inside /dev/shm. It appears to be something that happens in a very short time.
We've checked at the AS SAP side if there is any resource-consuming processes, but we were not able to find anything at ST03N. Neither we can't find anything at Solution Manager side. So we can't identify why this situation happens. The AS ABAP is running in a separate server, under Windows with a SAP kernel 749.
The following SAPNotes are not helping:
706071 - Linux: Memory in tmpfs is not released correctly
1674325 - DEV/SHM directory is used by mulitple instances and prevents startup
Could you help me, please?
Thank you and best regards.
