Hi,
based on SAP note 2786882 JCo 3.1 support will end 31.12.2025.
- Is there any replacing solution how to make at on-prem environment very fast calls between Java and ABAP (both directions)?
- Any news or rumors, will SAP extend JCo 3.1 maintenance, in the same way as ERP / ECC 6.0?
- Any other good advice for current JCo 3.1 users?
Br Kari Pietiläinen
Markus,
thank you for the answer. To have early information about JCo future is crucial - many customers use it for home-made business critical "add-ons". To re-architect and re-write these "add-ons" takes some time.
The sentence in SAP Note can easily been read also in that way, that JCo (3.1 nor any other version) will not be supported after 2025.
"Maintenance and support for SAP JCo 3.1 will end one year after the general availability release date of a successor version or on December 31, 2025 at the latest, whichever occurs first."
But very good news, that there will be continuation for JCo.

Hello Kari,
The note also tells that it will end one year after the release of a successor version as alternative. If you look at the JCo 3.0 support time frame, you should have noticed that the support window has been extended whenever it was necessary until in the end JCo 3.1 was released end of October 2019.
You can rely on SAP that there will be an update how it continues after 2025 - it's still some time to go after that time. Simply monitor the note.
Best regards,
Markus
