S/4HANA strategy

Our client has a distributed ECC and R3 System. The client wants to start the journey to S/4HANA and retire some of the systems over time. I wanted to know what would be the best strategy to plan for move to S/4HANA. Our business is into Heavy Machinery Manufacturing and rental of machinery with business in Europe, India and Africa
