Those who have used BOM Change management.. Please guide!

Hi Experts,

I was trying to develop a report for BOM change logs and realised that SAP do not store any information for components that were deleted from BOM. All the components that were updated can be fetched from tables/RssCD150 but those that were deleted and new row was added in BOM can not be found.

I know we have functionality of Change Management (CC01) where all changes happen against a number that must be approved and it makes sense because anyways business follows a workflow before changing BOM, just that they usually do in emails/excel sheets.

This question is for those who have implemented/used change management.

  • Do you get a report for all changes? Std report of changes in last financial year/month etc.
  • Is it too much work for users?
  • What is the simplest way you have used to functionality, considering making it mandatory for change but not for create.
  • What about your BDCs or mass change tools?
