RPA (Free trial - debug gives error for simple workflow

Hello,

I've followed all the setup steps for the RPA free trial, and I went into the studio and created a very basic workflow with a pop up (following the SAP open course).

However, when I launch this under the agent (after running debug mode), I get the follow message showing in the debug screen:

Next I click on the agent at bottom and choose the Test workflow1

'

But I get the following below

I also noticed that my agent has the following error:

Can any help guide me on what I am doing wrong???

Please check if your system has all the Technical Prerequisites for agent. Specifically, OS version, .Net version and IE version. You network also need to support websockets.

I know I.E version is fine (I.E 11) and I downloaded the .net 4.7 framework. I'm not %100 sure on the OS version (would assume ok ) / websockets though ... Could that really be the overall is on that error? I was hoping for something a bit more specific if possible. I can't be the only one who's had a similar message regarding the registeration failed on my desktop agent etc.

HI,

Did you follow all the instructions here ?

To be able to re-do the whole process :

- Disconnect your agent from the Factory (do it in the options of the Agent. You can check that your agent is not visible anymore in the Factory)

- Open the Windows Credentials Manager

- Remove the credential which name is SIRPA_XXX (where XXX is the name of your tenant)

- Register again your again (following the instructions in the link above)

Let us know if that helps !

Regards,

J.

Thanks for the reply but I'm not quite sure we're talking the same thing ...

1. My agent was never visible to begin with on the cloud factory when I log into it

2. I'm trying to use the free RPA trial (not sure if that matters)

3. On my desktop, my desktop agent shows that "registration failed" and is related to the factory cloud

4. I created a very simple "HelloWorld" workflow on my desktop studio, but when I debug it does not work - when I go to the desktop agent and click on it, it says "workflow can not be started" It seems related to the registration error but not sure. But shoudln't I be able to test my setup on the desktop studio locally without uploading it to the cloud ?

Hi,

Even when you launch your scenario on your machine using the Debugger, the agent still needs to be registered to the Factory, and declared in an environment.

Try to execute the procedure described above (without the 1st step if you cannot see your agent in the Factory) and let us know 🙂

Hi

In cloud factory you need a environment created and assigned to that a Agent group - Agent - Machine - name = MON3729C. It is your hostname according to the screenshot attached. You can confirm by command hostname in CMD.

Hello,

I created the enivronment, agent group / agent etc... So all that is availabe. Still, I'm getting the "Registration failed" message on my desktop agent.

Can anyone please help??? I've deleted and recreated the trail accounts, re did all the setups, but still the same thing. Its a bit frustrating that I can't get past this last part so that I can start creating some of the demos etc.

Hi - what type of agent registration have you done? Is it machine or login based ? For the login based, I too face the same issue but when I do for the machine based, then it works fine.

Thanks

I do not understand what you mean by login based vs machine ? Can you clarify? The issue seems to be related to the registration between my desktop agent and cloud.

I also can't even debug a simple local "hello world" workflow per my initial screenshot...I'm assuming these issues are connected but maybe not?

james.farmer4 - When you register an agent in the cloud factory, you either configure the machine ID of the machine that the end user uses OR the login id...When I was doing it, I tried to register the user with the login id and it never worked for me. But when I registered by machine ID as an agent, then it got connected. to get the machine id: go to command prompt and type in "hostname", whatever the result comes - is the machine id and it needs to be configured correctly in the cloud factory.

Thanks

Thank you ffor clarification ... yes, I've also done the same with using the hostname as the machine ID on the cloud - still the same issue is happening.

Hi james.farmer4 ,

It seems that your Desktop Agent unable to contact the Cloud factory as the registration fails. Did you try to login into your cloud factory. Is it working fine or showing any error while logging in ?

Hello Chandrasekar,

Yes I have and I don't see anything that indicates any type of errors etc. I do notice that no agents are available, but that's it.

This is what it looks like when I look into this part on the cloud:

Hi James,

It seems that you are agent not registered correctly with your cloud factory. Please Ensure whether these steps are followed correctly.

1. Go to the Agents Tab in cloud factory- Select Agent group - click new AGENT GROUP.

2. Enter the Machine name (Hostname) there and select type as MACHINE . click create.

3. Now click the Agent Group you created. - There you click new node (+ icon). Create a new node there by entering your hostname. click save.

4. Now go to the Environments TAB - create a new Environment. Select the environment you created. Inside that environment add the agent you created. Click the add agent button. Select the Agent Group you created and then the NODE you created. Click ADD. This will add the agent to your Cloud factory.

If you correctly register the agent you will be able to see the Agent count in the home screen of cloud factory.
