PM Order (Maintenance Order): default - "unit for operation quantity" for external service scenario

Hi Experts,

For maintenance order - external service scenario, when we select control key- PM03, requirement is to default Operation unit as "AU". It use to default earlier in version 1709. When we upgraded to 1909 version, its not defaulting anymore. User need to manually maintain the "unit for operation quantity". If "unit for operation quantity" is not maintained Service Pur Req is not created through maintenance order.

Please advise.

    Sharad Pandey,

I cant remember any specific configuration for defaulting the UoM for services only.

You could look in the user-settings in one of the order menu paths.

Otherwise you may need to use a user-exit.. I cant remember - but try SERV* in transaction SMOD.

    Hi Sharad ,

There are 2 settings involved in it .

1st - Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Maintenance and Service Processing > Maintenance and Service Orders > Functions and Settings for Order Types > Default Values for Task List Data and Profile Assignments

Here you define default value for Act/Op

So for your operation Unit gets defaulted when you select your operation .

However this value will get overwritten for external service based on Client / Purchase Organization Level .

Materials Management > External Services Management > Source Determination and Default Values > For Client / Purchase Organizations

Please check and confirm if these settings resolve your issue.
