ByDesign: Logistic models and QC check when doing inbound logistics

Hi,

when receiving goods from suppliers you want to do qc-checks.

The process should look like that

  1. Receiving - unload
  2. QC Check
  3. Receiving - put-away

Is there any way to set this up?

There might also be a way to use internal logistics?

Kind Regards,

Klaus

Hi klaus.hoffmann4,

You can get this by setup Logistics Model: Two-Step Receiving as shown below:

.

When you select Autonomic Inspection in Logistics Model then the system will trigger an Inspection Task in Quality Control.

Autonomic Inspection: An inspection that is triggered in a warehousing process and runs independently of the warehousing process after creation.

Dear Anant,

thank you for your information but unfortunately that doesn't work. Although the material is set to "in QC" and the QC task has been created, it is not possible to commit the QC-task because the underlying documents are not committed

If the QC check is only saved, it will not change the status.

Remember please: The check should be done after unloading and before putting the material to stock.

Hi klaus.hoffmann4,

As far as I know, that is not possible as of now.

Dear All,

it seems this this typical process(!) is not supported currently.

As long as material is linked to logistics tasks the QC process cannot be done because the material status cannot be changed with the change of stock task. This is not possible because the change of stock task doesn't find any material linked to a logistic task.

Any other setup would mean

  • the material is moved to a location in the warehouse with status QC check. This is not wanted in most cases. (one-step inbound process and two-step inbound process)
  • loss of any automatic storage location determination. (one-step inbound process)
  • loss of planned QC process with all inbound (unplanned QC process) I didn't test this but I would think that the main problem (the material is not found by the change of stock task) is also existing here.

I think that my request is valid. I will create a idea.

If there are any further helpfull ideas please do not hesitate to giv eme a hint.

Dear Klaus,

Before making use of Inspection in Logistics processes, Please make sure the below steps are followed.

Prerequisites

● Scoping: One or all of the inspection types listed in the overview have been selected during scoping in business configuration. In the Questions step, go to the Quality Assurance business area and choose Quality Control -

> Questions for Quality Control. Here, answer Yes to the relevant questions:

○ Do you want to inspect material or products delivered by suppliers, or send quality assurance documents to your suppliers in the purchasing process?

○ Do you want to inspect customer returns?

○ Do you want to inspect products received from subsidiaries?

○ Do you want to inspect finished products at customer shipment?

Quality Planning

● Logistics model: Autonomic Inspection has been selected in the Inspection Process field of the logistics model in the Warehousing and Logistics Master Data work center. The logistics model is released and consistent.

● Inspection plan: A valid inspection plan exists. For more information about inspection plans, see Inspection

You create an inspection plan for a specific inspection type. The system provides the following inspection types:

● Receiving Inspection - Supplier Delivery

To inspect incoming products from supplier deliveries

Let me know if this answers your query.

Dear Klaus,

In order to use Internal Logistics you can also manually create an unplanned inspection, you can use the New Inspection common task in the Quality Control,

In this case, only the product master data for the product to be inspected must be available.

Once the quality (inspection) document is completed by recording the results, you can carry out manual follow-up logistic movements if required. For example, you can:

● Create a change of stock using the corresponding common task in the Internal Logistics work center.

● Scrap a material or product using the corresponding common task in the Internal Logistics work center.

● Set a material or product to restricted using the Change of Stock common task in the Internal Logistics work center.

If you want to move inspection stock to restricted or unrestricted stock, you must be assigned the following:

Inbound Logistics work center (Change of Stock common task)

Quality Planning work center, Inspection Plans view

Let me know if this answers your query.
