What is sizing of SAP Marketing Cloud?

What is the idea of sizing in contexts of SAP Marketing Cloud?

In case of on-premise solution, sizing gives an input to hardware purchasing process. In case of cloud, we do not purchase any hardware.

Why do we need Scoping & Sizing procedure at all?

What generally happens if we do not fit into pricing tier based on number of contacts?

    Dear Mikhail,

Good Question, in-case of cloud, we don't know in advance how many users, contacts and data you're expecting!

So we need to collect those details from customer and then SAP Marketing Cloud Detailed Sizing Form is used to calculate the recommended Pricing Tier and number of incremental SAP HANA Memory Size required to host the customer data (if the default size is not enough).

There are multiple Sizing Metrics used in this case:

    • Number of Contacts
    • Number of Campaigns per Contact
    • Number of Emails to Send per year
    • Number of Interactions per year
    • Number of Sales Orders per year
    • Predictive Analytics
    • Additional Custom Data Loads

If you don't fit into pricing tier, it's checked and reviewed by sales and consulting to see options, your account manager will know how and whom to contact !

Hope this gives you an overview to understand.

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,
