Hi all,
is it possible to change the User Types in SAP IAS to custom ones? The default user types I see are: Public/Employee/Partner/Customer.
I searched in the API documentation (https://help.sap.com/viewer/6d6d63354d1242d185ab4830fc04feb1/Cloud/en-US/b10fc6a9a37c488a82ce7489b1f...) but couldn't find it as resource type.
I see the resource type function (RESOURCE_MD_FUNCTIONS). Perhaps this is a similar field... I don't know which field does this match - I don't see the Function field in the user IAS screen.
Thanks and regards
Deborah
Hi deborah.albrecht2
I don't believe you can change the user types and there is currently no API that covers this. There are API's as you have seen to update Salutations, Functions, departments etc and there are API's that also cover changing of the Tenant texts however user type is not one of them.
I would suggest using another field if you wanted to classify the users in some way over and above the standard user type field.
Thanks & Kind Regards

I think by now SAP would have opened the possibilities in adding custom UserTypes to IAS. Please let us know what we, customers, can do to advance development in this direction.
