Hello,
In S/4 HANA, I am uploading HU stock with internal number range But system is giving me an error.
I would like to know below. I have attached part of upload file.
Whether my item category entry is correct?
Whether my storage bin entry is correct?
My line ID entry is correct?
As I am using internal number range, what exactly I need to enter in Handling unit, higher level Hu ,highest level HU?
Thanks,
Milind Cewm-hu-stock-upload-file.jpg
Hi Milind,
have a look at SAP note 974852. It contains sample CSV files which you can use for /SCWM/ISU.
Best regards
Andreas

Thank you so much j_blohm
is it mandatory to enter the serial number in the upload file. I want the serial number to be internally generated.

Yes, I think they are.
Why would you want to generate them internally? I could only think of this as being reasonable for a test system. The serial number is supposed to be applied on the physical article, so it doesn't make sense in a productive environment.
If you need "just any" serial numbers in the stock of your test system, just generate them in Excel before the stock upload via a simple formula and then upload them to EWM.
Hello j_blohm,
Thank you
the Base unit of measure is in EA only.
Also, can you help with sharing the correct upload file for serialized HU managed material.
Thanks in advances for our help.

Please check the file Upload.zip attached in note 974852. It contains an example for your use case (file Upload_EWM_1809.csv). Please note that the example includes the IUID. You shouldn't fill the field if you have not activated the IUID in your serial number profile.
I have used that example as a base for my uploads before and it works just fine.
Hello Jonas,

Hi babuponimmanuel.gnanadhas ,
I think for the serial numbers, you only need to fill
line type = 6
product no.
row
refrow = number of corresponding type 4 line
serid (column BD in your screenshot, it's currently not filled)
... and that's it.
Also, check if the unit of measure EA is actually correct or if it should be PC instead. Please note: there must always be as many serial number lines as is the quantity in base unit of measure. For example, if your base unit of measure is PC and you upload quantity as 5 CAR where 1 CAR <=> 6 PC, you will need 30 serial number lines.
I don't expect this to be the case here, but you should check the base uom anyway. If the base uom is CAR e.g. and you try to upload eaches, the serial number upload won't work properly, as you cannot enter a fraction of 1 number of serial number lines.
So I would
1. enter SERID in upload and try again
if it doesn't work, 2. check base uom
Hi Babu,
Your file is mostly correct for the purpose you want to achieve, but I would in this use case generally advise only to use fields HUIDENT and TOPHUIDENT and also fill ROW. Nonetheless, it should normally be working the way you tried. If the field EXTNO is not set (XFIELD) and an internal number range is assigned to the packaging material type, a HUIDENT from the internal number range will be drawn.
The error however looks to me more like an issue with the max. volume/weight attributes of the packaging material. Could it be that the product you are trying to pack is to heavy/big for the packaging material? If so, you should temporarily increase the allowed loading weight/volume of the packaging material.
Best regards,
Jonas

Hello,
Thanks Andress!
Yes I referred same and converted in to correct excel format. I am able to upload HU stock now successfully. I would like to share the HU-initial stock upload format in excel form for four materials. Issue now resolved.
Thanks,
