Introduction to Software Development on SAP Hana - which instance to connect to in CAL?

I'm working on the self-paced version of the course, and up to week 1, unit 4. I've set up my AWS account, but I cannot figure out which CAL instance to use. I understand that there's supposed to be an instance that has an image for the class, but I do not know where it is. I've been through a huge amount of documentation and user questions, but none seem to be current (April 2020), so all answers lead to bad links.

Can anybody help? If not, I may just give up on this course.

Assuming you are referencing the following course: https://open.sap.com/courses/hana7 (SPS03, 2019)

There is a solution in CAL for this course but is has expired: https://cal.sap.com/console/tenant_7PVC95FOMFI9#/solutions/d765b450-f55c-42af-810b-bcf53cdfdad6

To get your own instance of SAP HANA, express edition, go to https://www.sap.com/cmp/td/sap-hana-express-edition.html. Unless your computer has at least 20GB for the full version including XS Advanced, using a hosted version is recommended. See which cloud provider offers a free trial or credits.

There may be some sample content included on the CAL edition but typically they work with GitHub repositories.

As one of the course authors, I agree with the recommendation here. Please use the exercises from the hana7 course. It contains all the content from all the previous courses but also updated for the newest HANA releases. All those exercises are designed and tested on HANA Express. The old CAL image only had a few things in it (like the SFLIGHT schema) that helped with the cross container/schema exercises. However the exercise document for hana7 course also contains all the steps you need to import that extra content yourself. Or you can just skip those two exercises. They aren't critical to the downstream exercises.
