Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008 Migration to Crystal Reports 2016

Dear Team,

We are planning to Migrate existing Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008 to Latest Version as we are in process of migration of Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2016 and even .Net Framework 2.0 to .Net Framework 4.5 and above is also in pipeline.

Please help me with the "List of Migration Steps" to follow to migrate along with the license costs compatible to above OS and latest .Net Frameworks.

We are trying to reach local Sales of SAP India, it would be great help to get me in touch with relevant teams to take this forward.

Regards,

Arun Siripuram

See the wiki https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads for information about which changes you need to make to your code (there aren't many). Also, the integration for VS is a .exe file which needs to be installed by right-clicking on it and choosing "Run as Administrator" because of the registry keys it needs to create as part of the install. The various runtime options for installing when you deploy your application are also available through the wiki. For those, you need to be logged in with Administrator privileges in order for the install to work correctly, again because of the registry keys it needs.

FYI - VS 2008 is not supported using the .NET SDK Dell linked above...

You will need to upgrade to VS 2010 -> 2019 first.

VS will, maybe, replace the existing CR assemblies with the updated versions - 13.0.4000.0

Remove the two BusinessObjects assemblies, no long shipped and this version cannot and will not connect to a BOE server.
