Creation of a new country localization in S/4 Hana Cloud

Hello,

Some of our customers have operations in countries which have no localization version yet (in Africa).

In her 2019 blog (https://blogs.sap.com/2019/12/19/frequently-asked-questions-around-the-localization-toolkit-for-sap-s-4hana-cloud/), Davya mentions that there will be a toolkit offered to develop personalized country versions.
Would you have a rough idea of a delivery date for this feature ?

Thanks and best regards,

Olivier

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the question and also referring back to the blog from 2019.

You can find more recent updates in our latest FAQ.

As of today, it isn’t possible to build a new local version as we are awaiting the feature within the Central Business Configuration that will enable this.

However, there are SAP S/4HANA Cloud starter pack versions available since 2002 (the Bahamas, Bermuda, Botswana, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Cyprus, Guernsey, Jersey, and Qatar) and also a few planned for 2005 (Belize, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) that you could look into for your requirements (for eg. In Africa). You will find more closer information about the starter packs here and please check the roadmap for more details.

The blog here speaks of how you can extend the scope of a starter pack to address legal requirements.

Please let us know if you have any further questions in this regard and we would be happy to support.

Thanks and best regards,

Divya

Hi Divya,

as far as I know, in SAP S/4HANA Cloud the Country is the highest level of the Organizational Structure. In order to define a Company Code in a new Country you have to request its activation in your system via an incident. The 42 officially supported Countries are listed in the template available in the Activate Roadmap Org Structure Definition Template.xlsm (Public).

Then additional Countries are listed in the documentation of the Localization Toolkit https://help.sap.com/viewer/3c0da5f52dfd44caa169b9a4f4dee121/2005.500/en-US/11b8e8687af64b09b01d359f...

What I cannot understand is the process to activate a company e.g. in Uganda: should we first request the activation of the relative Country? By which template? Or is there a way to define the company also if the Country solution is not installed in our system?

Thank you,

-Luca-

Hi Lucas,

Thanks for the question. Starter packs follow the same templates as any other supported local Version. Please check the SAP Roadmap Viewer for closer details. Here is the direct link to the relevant details in the realize phase. All the starter packs are also supposed to be listed in the template available in the SAP Activate roadmap that you have mentioned.

Please let us know if you need any further details.

Thanks and regards,

Divya

Hi Divya,

Are there any news regarding the one-off localization toolkit mentioned in this document: https://d.dam.sap.com/a/3x6eFS7/FAQ_S4HANACloud_Starter_Packs_for_SelectCountries.pdf?

I need Greek and Morocco for a prospect I'm working on.

Thanks

Mario
