Hello,
how can I close the EPM Formatting sheet in a planning view template.
If I use the password option under templae admin and go to the sheet "protection" and manage an password, all sheets in the template are closed.

Oliver
Hi Oliver,
Currently there is no way to fully restrict the planner/end user access to the EPMFormattingSheet.
If for instance, the user right click on the Excel worksheet area => Choose "Unhide..." and select the EPMFormattingSheet, it will open regardless of the Business Roles configuration.
In the other hand, you can at least restrict its ability to be opened via the "Edit View => View Formats" menu, by not providing WRITE access to the PV_LAYOUT Administration Function on the user's Business Roles configuration.
The ideal is that you never provide PV_TMPLT Administration Function to an user that shouldn't have access to change an existing Global Template EPMFormattingSheet setting and end up updating this changed formatted template to the server;
On that way, the user will only have the ability to change and update his own Planning View Favorites EPMFormattingSheets.
Hope that clarifies.
Best,
Ivan

you can find specific info under 2456362 - IBP: How to restrict templates for users in Excel - https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2456362
the specific PV_TMPLT and PV_LAYOUT authorizations are maintained in the General - Administrative Functions section of the 'Maintain Permissions' on your business roles.

Hello Irmhild,
I mean with close, that special rolls connot open / use the EPMFormatting Sheet..
In detail I mean,
a local planer open a planning view.. now he can dispaly the EPM FOramtting sheet ( right mouse) and he can change the settings.
How can I prevent this. I don't know, how far I can close it and I see two options:
a) the planer are not able to display the EpmFormatting sheet
b) the planer can display the Epmformatting Sheet but cannot change the settings.
Regards
Oliver

Hello Anna,
this two ways are interesting.
The base is, that I want close a key figure. I have faound (in the community) that I can close a figure with data validierung. this is working fine.
But now, the next step is, that the EPM Foramtting sheet is close and for example it is not possible for a local planer to open the EPM Formatting sheet.
But if the local planer the option to open the EPM Foramtting sheet, it have to close in the sense that the planer can't change everything.

Hi,
Do you want to close/hide it or prevent that the user can open / view the formatting sheet at all ? Or you want to protect it from changes by the user?
Best regards,
Anna
