0CO_OM_CCA_1 into an ODS?

Hi all,

Business content shows that cube 0CCA_C11 gets fed by 0CO_OM_CCA_1 (among others). However, we wish to use the data from this datasource for other purposes aswell.

One of our developers had used the 0CCA_C11 cube as a datasource for an ODS on top of it, but from an architectural point of view, using a cube as a datasource is not a preferred solution.

The idea is now to put an ODS in between the cube and the datasource and use that ODS for other purposes. But... I've heard rumours that datasource 0CO_OM_CCA_1 is a special one and can only go into a cube directly (something to do with tracking history?). I have tried to put the data into an ODS, and it results in a different dataset in the ODS from the set in the cube (loaded with the same restrictions).

Can anyone shed a light on the 0CO_OM_CCA_1 matter for me and if this ODS will actually work in the first place?

Thanks in advance,

Eduard

    Hi Eduard,

CCA_1 should not be posted into ODS if you want to have a "simulated" delta (like upload the same period several times). This will not work because data is take out of the "sum-Tables" like COSS and others and the delta can not be calculated properly.

If you only upload closed periods into the ODS and only once, it should be ok.

Check your ODS-Key. the number of records transfered must be the same as the posted records are (look at administration view of ods ... you know that). Also assign objects like 0CURRTYPE, 0VTYPE, 0VTDETAIL and others. The Keyfields for the extractor can be seen in the content-documentation.

    Hi,

    Some check:

Your ODS has key fields that are homogeneous with the dimensions of the Cube ?

In Update Rules for ODS you have only Addition rules for the Key Figures (like in the ODS)?

    Let me know please.

    Ciao.

    Thanks for your responses.

After some discussion with a colleague, I decided not to build this ODS. The fact that one needs to empty the ODS every time a load is done defies the purpose of having one in the first place.

It also turns out that the data extracted from the 0CCA_C11 cube was not really needed and could be obtained in a different way.

    Saves a lot of hassle.

    Thanks again,

    Eduard
