POST data from SAP HANA to Apache Kafka/APIs

Hello all,

We are using SAP HANA(2.0 SP 03) runtime edition. I do not have much knowledge on the internals of SAP. We have a requirement where we would like to copy the data from on prem SAP system to our analytical layer which is an apache spark based system. We prefer if the system is event based.

Upon enquiring internally, we found that the Kafka Connect connector(https://github.com/SAP/kafka-connect-sap) cannot be used as it's based on JDBC which the license does not allow.

Hence, I am reaching out to the community to help us understand if we have a way to work things so that we can consume the data on a real time basis through an API or Kafka. Thanks for your time.

Can you please clarify if it's only a HANA Database with custom developments or if there is an SAP ERP or S/4HANA that is using the HANA as a database? If yes, what exact version? Maybe you can also describe the requirement / usecase a bit in more detail. Please use the comment function and not the answers.
