notification to buyer - material returns

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to send notification to buyer in case of material returns. We are returning materials using 122 and 161 movement types.

Can'GR message' and message output functionality send email to buyer in case of:

1. regular PO when 122 movement is posted?

2. returns PO when 161 movement is posted?

If not, kindly let me know how can we achieve this?

Thanks

    Hello Anny aggarwal

SAP standard configuration provides a couple of material document output types similar to what you want to achieve. These are:

    • MLGR GR Message
    • MLMD GR Qty Deaviation
    • MLUD GRunder/over delivery.

I'd suggest you copy one of these messages are adjust the requirement to trigger it. You requirement should check for 122 and 161 movement types.

Alternatively you can go without a requirement implementation and determine the output type directly by the movement types.

    Hi,

I request you to use enhancement during posting MIGO document for movement type 122 and 161 movement type... pick the mail id form vendor master...

and for returns P.O, if you have a process of creating P.O for return items you can send from P.O generation too...in case if it should be at the time of MIGO then, use enhancement at MIGO for both movement types...

also, configure the output types as per your business-specific requirement at SPRO-->Materials Management-->Inventory Management and Physical Inventory-->Output Determination-->Maintain Output Types
