Restore encrypted backups in HANA

Hi all,

I have some questions to related to encrypted backup and restore,Please help me below quries,

1.If your recovering SAP HANA from encrypted backups, the backup encryption root key must be imported into the instance SSFS and this is pre-requisite. However, for the testing - we tired to recover without importing the backup encryption root key and even then i was able to recover the database and services were started successfully. Then what is the use of the encryption here ?

2.The backed up older version of the backup encryption root keys must be imported as well, if needed, how do we check how many previous versions of the keys need to be retained or how many previous versions of the keys need to be imported ?

3.Its is recommend to enable encryption immediately after SAP HANA installation and for an existing database we will have to drop and recreate the database due to un-encrypted shadow pages. Is there a way to check how many pages are encrypted.

Kind Regards,
