Hello Everyone,
I am trying to send out an email via Bex Broadcaster and going in transaction SOST I can see the status is red with message 816 and text 'Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)'.
Does anyone know what this means?
Thank you,
Colleen
Hi Colleen,
Go to SCOT transaction , check the SMTP settings. Go into the SMTP setting and check
whether you have maintained the permissible domain names under supported adress types->
internet -> address areas.
I assume that your mail host and mail port settings are correct.
Let us know if this helps!
Regards,
Ranita

Hi,
Some anti-virus software can block the mail ports. In my case, I was facing exactly the issue mentioned above. I was using mail port 25. I disabled the anti-virus software on my host BW server and hey presto, the mail routing worked fine.
You can also check whether the Windows Firewall (assuming you're on Windows) is on. Try turning this off as well.
Cheers,
Jim.

Same issue here but with a different twist.
Getting the error for FAX output when there are either:
- too many attachments
or
- attachments too large.
However, the exact same output that fails can be repeated and sent successfuly via email.
It would seem to me that prior suggestions above would not resolve this type of subtle differences with individual messages that error while others are successfull.
Any Ideas?
hi,
i faced the same issue a couple of weeks back... the problem is with the firewall... ask your administration team to remove the firewall... and also enter the server name or the ip address in the DNS.... It should resolve the problem...

Try taking a look at RSRD_ADMIN transaction. This will show you all logs from the Broadcaster.
Thanks,
Jeff
