DRF activation for Replicating Master Data transactional data

Hi All,

I am new to MDG and We are planning to enable the DRF functionality for transferring data from SAP ECC to S4 Hana,

Which Business function will be required for activating DRF?

Business functions of MDG will also be required or a DRF can be activated seperately?

What are the other pre-requisite for enabling the DRF functionality(currently neither MDG nor DRF is activated), specially using the Web Services?

The Business Function DRF_FOUNDATION provides the basic features for DRF.

Not sure if i understood initial discussion.

We want to replicate material master from ECC -> MDG using DRF Framework. After activation of business function you indicated we want to exectute configuration for BO 194 and outbound implementation I_MAT. However at activation we are running in the ECC system into the error that further MDG business functions are required. How to proceed here. My assumption was that DRF Foundation acts as a kind of standalone solution.

Hi Jürgen,

In the question above, there was no MDG involvement specified. If you'd like to run MDG processes, you'd have to use other Business Functions (which may incur additional license cost). Please specify which release you're on and the intended MDG processes.

sorry for beeing not clear enough. So what we did, in ECC system 750, SP19. SFW5 for DRF-Foundation.

After performing the relevant outbound customiztion for BO194, we try to activate, we get error that we should activate MDG functions. But we want only use the DRF to replicate the material master.

so we did further investigations

and it looks like (at least so far) that it is not possible in an normal ECC system to use DRF for material...

As we already use MDG 9.2 with DRF in separate system. we got based on this blog to the idea using DRF as well in the correspoding ECC system.

Hi Jürgen,

I need to check back with the DRF domain experts, but I guess you are right. It seems to be that in SAP ERP there is no DRF outbound implementation for "Material" without MDG. This is only possible with SAP S/4HANA.

Hello,

Do we need additional licences to activate business function DRF_FOUNDATION on ECC6 for Business Partner replication or is it free of cost? In S/4HANA this business function is always on, but deactivated and non reversible in ECC6.
