Duplicated inbound SSCC HU's

Hi All,

I am working on a project at the moment where the client receives inbound SSCC idocs with the despatch details from their vendor.

Currently there is a problem where, when the SSCC is loaded in SAP, if the SSCC has been used before for us from that vendor, the system says the HU is duplicated.

According to GS1 standards the SSCC can, by design, be reused after 12months so there must be a way to close off the old SSCC and upload the duplicate number but with different details, (dates, contents etc).

What is also confusing the situation is that by turning on the 'allow duplicate SSCC' flag, we can get the new number to load but when viewed the record is displayed, the HU details being retrieved are for the old number.

Any ideas???

Hi Balaji,

deleting or archiving was our first thought (by a customised program that runs regularly), but the business wants ready access to the shipment data.

We're baffled because why would it not be possible in vanilla if the GS1 global standards allow duplication.

Our next thought was maybe we can change the script to also look at the delivery dates to ensure it's not a duplicate, but then we ran into the problem of the previous contents being retrieved and displayed on the new number.
