Hi,
I need to create a calculation where I display the variance between 2 columns (versions in my case). A simple solution is to create a column in the table where I calculate the variance:
But variance disappear when I change a version. The calculation doesn't refer to the cells, but to exact versions.
I know that it's a solution by using cross calculations functionality for the variance. But is not working for me in the way I need because I already use cross calculations for currency conversion.
So my questions are: Is it a bug that calculations in columns refer to dimension elements? Why we can't refer to the cells like in Excel?
Thanks,
Anton
Hello, could you solve it?
I have a similar question 😞

Cross calculations does not work when you have monthly ratios in 2 versions.
It will aggregate the monthly results instead of aggregate the components for the year and and then divide.
example. you have
Month 1 a/x
Month 2 c/y..
YEAR should be (a+c)/x+y) It works fine if you use one version for the whole year. But if you combine 2 versions in a table like forecasting, result will be a/x + c/y which is wrong.
