Excluding storage location from MRP

Hi,

we're trying to exclude any material that has stocks in a specific storage location from the MRP.

Following the normal process we have done the following:

-Marking the SL as 1 in OMIR ((SPRO > Production > Material requirements planning > Planning > Define storage location MRP per plant. --> Set the indicator 1). This way any new material that gets created will have the field MARD-DISKZ marked as1.

-Changing in mass any already existing materials so the rest of the materials also have the field MARD-DISKZ withthe 1 indicator.

However, many materials that have been exclude this way are still showing in the MRP. For example:

Is there any reason for the stock in the MRP to be the same as the ones in the warehouse?

You should clear MARD-DISKZ first - see note 2719213 - Message no. MD06030 while maintaining a MRP Area for the Material Master

It describes the problem, details the procedure with MRP_AREA_STORAGE_LOC_MIGRATION report. Actually this report should be run as part of migration to S/4HANA.

Storage location level MRP is no longer supported in S/4HANA - see S/4HANA simplification list. That's why you don't see the "SLoc MRP indicator" field in material master data, view MRP4. The OMIR config is still there, but it's obsolete.

You need to create MRP area for the storage locations to be excluded from plant level MRP.

Hi,

we already have MRP areas mantained but can't assign tem to the materials due to an error:

The error is the MD06030.

Is this because it enters in conflict with the DISKZ field in MARD(which is obsolete also i guess)?

Should we just mass change al the materials excluded in MRP so we can assign the MRP Area?

Hello,

In S/4HANA, there is no field for storage location exclusion in MRP and you have to use MRP Areas.

As MRP fields that are no longer supported due to the SAP S/4 HANA simplification.
