Navigation Attributes

Former Member

Hi,

I have created a new Characteristic that reference to another Characteristic with Navigation Attributes. But when I include the new Characteristics in the Infocube, the navigational attributes are not available for selection, therefore I can't use them for my query.

Does anyone has a clue why is the Navigation Attributes not showing in the Infocube?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi,

Include the characteristic with nav attribute in characteristics tab.And click tab "Nav attributes" in characteristics tab of edit Infocube. There you check the box I/O. By doing so , the nav. attribute is switched on in the Info cube.

Hi all,

thanks for all the reply, I just came to realise that the navigational attributes in the referenced characteristic will become display attributes in the new characteristic. We need to turn on the navigational attributes setting in order to see them in the infocubes and allow drilldowns in the queries.

Hi,

In BW you cannot maintain Navigational Attributes with referenced info objects, thus you cannot see attributes in Info cube and Reports.

to better understand this, try to create a new info object with ZCUSTOMER and reference to 0CUSTOMER and activate the info object. When the info object is activated it will aslo give you a msg " Only Display Attributes can be maintained with referenced caharacter 0CUSTOMER".

Hope this helps
