SAP MCF Demo/Screens

Hello everyone!

I've been hunting for a demo on SAP MCF and really struggling to get any leads.

There's supposed to be an app on the playstore as well called SAP Self Service for Utilities which is supposed to comprise of demo screens, but it seems like the app has been pulled off from the market.

Does SAP provide any demo of how the standard screens would look/feel like? Any sample screens of the product that I can come across anywhere?

Thank you very much!

Saud.

As stated here already : I believe that particular solution will not be updated / provided in its original form, as a lot of Components will have had a (technical) upgrade, such as added OData-Services that determine the Progr.Logic for all kinds of Functionality. Also, it was intended to run on SMP OnPremise, which is going out of Maintenance soon and is replaced by SAP Mobile Backend Services (Cloud Product).

I believe the Solution that comes closest (MCF Integration and Utilities-Focussed) is the Product provided by SAP-Partner "SEW", see this link ...

Hi Nic

Thank you very much for your response!

You've opened a pandora's box by introducing SAP Self Service Accelerator for Utilities.

From what I've read and tried to connect dots, it's a separate product that offers similar functionality to MCF. How does it integrate with MCF? Is there any mechanism for this?

My end-goal is to provide a mobile app for MCF and I'm searching for the best possible way to achieve this!

Hi Saud, did you see this reformatted community page:

https://community.sap.com/topics/utilities/multichannel-foundation-utilities-public-sector?sap-outbo...

It has some youtube videos and screenshots.

Yes, regarding the mobile app it was removed from the stores because it requires frequent updates.

Best Regards, Yevgen

Hi Yevgen

Thank you for providing the link.

I have a couple of questions pertaining to the mobile app, would be grateful if you can assist -

1. Is it possible for me to get the apk for the standard app so that I can check how the standard screens would look/feel like?

2. What is the best way to deploy MCF on mobile?

My research so far has led me to three suggestions -

A. Get android/ios source code (note 2165708 - is it still relevant?), compile it and then deploy the app using SAP Mobile Platform. How long will SAP support SMP, is this solution still valid?

B. Deploy via SAP Cloud Platform for Mobile. Any guides that can help me achieve this for MCF?

C. Switch to SAP Self Service Accelerator for Utilities by SEW. Is this a seperate product, and does it integrate with MCF?

Which is the best way you recommend for deploying SAP MCF on mobile screens?

Thank you very much, would be grateful for your response!

Hello saud

As a response to your Question on Integrating "SEW" with "MCF" I can only point to the Solution Brief, indicating "SAP Self-Service Accelerator is certified to fully integrate with SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities and Public Sector software and the SAP HANA business data platform. From both technical and functional standpoints, the utilities accelerator offers a consummate fit as a self- service solution for utilities running SAP solutions." ...

As far as I've researched into traditional MCF, the main component into "mobilizing" functionalities is providing the OData-Services, so Platform and (Mobile) Framework specific Development would be needed (in contract to an accelerator Solution such as SEW's?).

Yet, the Administrator's Guide on MCF does indicate a Sample App "FMCAUI5_MOBILE" is provided as a SAPUI5 Application ... See SAP-Note 2323750 on how to deploy this (Mobile?) SAPUI5 Application ...

Hope this helps
