Can AfO , Design Studio and some other BO tools be used without BO portal?

We use NW 7.5 only.

Can AfO , Design Studio and some other BO tools be used without BO portal?

Can these tools be used for multi-client?

For example, I have created Bex query out of ECC that has 5 clients. Depending on login details (client , language) report shows data of respective client.
