Can AfO , Design Studio and some other BO tools be used without BO portal?

Good morning,

We use NW 7.5 only.

Can AfO , Design Studio and some other BO tools be used without BO portal?

Can these tools be used for multi-client?

For example, I have created Bex query out of ECC that has 5 clients. Depending on login details (client , language) report shows data of respective client.

Hi Aleksandrs,

Please be aware that Design Studio 1.6 is already replaced with Lumira Designer which will be replaced by the Analytics Designer within SAP Analytics Cloud (according to the strategy). I'm not sure about how long this product will be supported. Perhaps you should focus on a more long-term strategy solution?

Regarding Analysis for Excel: This can be used without the SAP BO BI Portal. You connect directly to one of your BW systems defined via SAP Logon. For more information please check the PAM: https://support.sap.com/content/dam/launchpad/en_us/pam/pam-essentials/AO_28_PAM_Additional_Info.pdf.

Regarding the others like Design Studio or other BI Tools: this depends on whether there is a server component involved. Not sure if Design Studio (or Lumira Designer) applications can (still) be hosted on a NW platform. Thanks for your help

I connect to particular DS 1.6 dashboard via NW, make changes in this dashboard that is immediately reflected on Fiori portal.

I don't see any need for BO portal.
