For the invoice documents to be visible in the T-code "/opt/vim_wp" do we require any roles/authorization to be given to the specific user ID who is facing the issue.

Do you have an authorization issue ?
if yes you can use SU53 ( from the user gui ) or ST01 tcode , to trace the error.
