How does SCCLN work?

hi, all.

i'm investigating about SCCLN and found the document says it's 10 times faster than SCCL.

Why does it so fast? also, tell me how Client copy tools(SCCL, SCCLN) work internally(like what kind of process work and so on).

There was recently a session about the new SCCLN tool in ASUG. To watch it you need to be a member, but there is a recap available from tammy.powlas3 (thanks for sharing!):

Hi yuki_nakatani,

You can try the SCCLN on the newer versions of like S/4 Hana system, & cannot be used in older versions for example, ECC6.0 as at those point this feature was not available & released

Also other options like SCC_COMP_LOCAL, SCC_CLIENT_SIZE, SCC_COMP_REMOTE are available

Hope that below details are what you are looking for

• the local copy is now ~ 10x faster
• the remote copy is now ~ 5x faster
• This is achieved by INSERT FROM SELECT directly at the HANA DB level, instead of SELECT> CHANGE CLIENT> INSERT at the ABAP level
