Your answer to XXX was accepted by a moderator - for all my already accepted answers!

I can see in the Karma log that practically all my already accepted answers are accepted again by moderator (looks like!). Result is dramatic increase of Karma credits (before I have about 37000 credits, now it's more than 52000 credits). I see 1510 answers accepted by moderator out of 2427 total accepted answers (and I remember that before this strange activity I had about 2400 accepted answers).

What's going on???

So, it appears this was an unexpected side effect of a script in the system unrelated to this topic. We are investigating and plan to reverse the unintended additional karma credits that were created. Thank you for your understanding and your continued patience.

Looks like somebody decided to accept as moderator all old answers with high upvote (at least one upvote is ok). But this person didn't check the answer status that it's already accepted!

    • Hi Vadim,

This is a real head-scratcher, and we're looking into what may have happened. Thanks in advance for your patience as we investigate.

Since there are several places where this has been asked/discussed, I'm going to use this thread to provide updates and will make sure the other places point here (I think you did some of that already, but I'll note in those places that I'll be updating here).
