Why ABAP Development tools(ADT)?

When whole world is moving on to URL based coding(Enter Dev URL->Login->Write code), why SAP still suggesting/recommending for one more tool though we have existing GUI.

Can't we focus more on URL based coder, which has numerous advantages. Like,

1. Code anytime from anywhere

2. Code from any system

3. No need of ~1GB GUI

This can really help Developer/Consultant and saves a lot of time.
