Multiple field criteria with different association scenarios

I have a scenario where 5 levels are required for org structure company>Business unit>parent division>division>department

In some cases parent division is assigned directly to legal entity

After configuring associations

is it possible to achieve both scenarios in field criteria

ie if legal entity is only selected the parent division directly related to it is filtered

however if legal entity and business unit is selected parent divisions which are associated to the business unit is selected
