04 inspection does not work for EWM in 1909 version

Hello everyone,

As we read on the simplification list, 01 and 04 inspection types are supported to work with EWM in 1909 version without an inspection rule.

01 inspection type works well with EWM. We've generated the inspection lot without an inspection rule on GR successfully. However, 04 inspection type does not work without an inspection rule. I make settings to have an inspection lot per material document and it is not generated after GR for production order. There is no inspection lot and the stock directly goes to available stock both in ERP and EWM systems.

So now I have to use 1704 inspection type with inspection rules to be able to generate an inspection lot after goods receipt for production. But it will be quite better if I can use 04 inspection type without inspection rules. So I wonder if there is anyone who used this feature or are any further settings to make to be able to generate insp lot for 04 inspections in EWM?

2815441 - EWM | QIE | QM | Inspection lot of origin 04 is not created in EWM scenario

Current system response corresponds to the standard.

Possible solutions:

1.If an inspection lot of origin 04 is required, use a non-EWM-managed storage location during the process.

2.If the EWM-managed storage location is a must in the scenario and business still would like to create inspection lots of origin 04, a modification of the standard logic is necessary. Code corrections of SAP Note 2048872 has to be removed from the system.

Use inspection lot origin 17.

Thanks for your reply. Your comment is valid for the versions before 1909, but it is not valid for the 1909 version. Please read simplification list for version 1909. 04 inspection types are supported with EWM from now on. You don't have to use inspection lot origin 17 anymore as it says in the simplification list. I already generated inspection lots with 01 inspection type (supported with 1909 ver.) but couldn't generate insp lots with 04 inspection type for per material document. That's my case.
