How to track Changes when BOM Records completely deleted?

Recently someone placed blame on one of the people working for me, a lot of it is emotional.

I want to know the facts.

The BOM had items under it, the person doing the finger pointing deleted the items. But there is no way for us to track changes to the BOM since all of the items are deleted = no bill of materials.

We usually have a BOM (CS03,2) and can see who modified what.

is there a transaction that we can go to, to view the changes even all the deletion of items and by whom?

It is possible to find out who deleted the BOM, but there won't be very detailed information. If you plan on restoring the BOM only based on record of changes I don't think that it will be possible.

I am not sure if you have sufficient authorization to check by yourself, you may need to ask a support consultant to export the information on your behalf.

Do you know at least approximately when the BOM was deleted? It would be a lot easier if you do.

You can use report RSSCD100 (you can run it via SA38). Enter the user ID of the person that you suspect in deleting the BOM. For object class enter STUE.

In the result list there will be an entry for table MAST. The table key is composed of <client><header material with leading zeros><plant><BOM usage><BOM number>.

The nice thing is that by using <client><BOM number> as criterion in Object ID together with STUE as Object class you can track the changes done starting from the BOM creation until it was deleted.

thank you for the well thought out response.

will have to make do with this for now. not trying to restore it, but trying to see who did what basically.

for CDHDR/CDPOS it is the history of CS03, there is no generic transaction

for DBTABLOG it should be SCU3
