how to make comments mandatory in access request 10.1

Hi guys,

Please help to provide suggestion for the below.

I have maintained comments mandatory - Rejection in Display task setting. But still it is not asking for comments when rejecting the role.

I dont want each line item to be maintained comments for rejection - so i dont want 2040 parameter.

Any suggestions plz..

To make 'Comments Mandatory' at each stage in MSMP workflow while Approving or Rejecting any GRC request, select 'Both' from drop down for 'Comments Mandatory' field as below at each stage such as Manager, Role Owner, Security etc.

Hi Shankar,

Generally whole request rejection option will not be given to Role Owners as they should not be allowed to REJECT the whole request but instead should "REJECT" or "APPROVE" only roles for which they are owners. For enabling the rejection at request level, in MSMP stage settings you need to use options highlighted below:

Hence, if you want to enable REJECTION comments for role owners, only option is to enable at line item level.

1. Access Control configuration parameter 2040 must be set to YES
2. Setting "Change Request Details" must be checked in the MSMP Stage configuration maintenance screen

If a whole request rejection means what it refers?

If there are 4 roles are awaiting approval for one approver, if he/she rejects all the roles, then it will ask for comments? if so what is the setting for this?

Hi Shankar,

There are two types of REJECTIONS possible in GRC access request:

- Whole Request Rejection (If you are rejecting the whole request only then comments will become mandatory)

- Line item level Rejection (If you are rejecting the individual line items then comments will become mandatory at the item level)

If you want REJECTION comments mandatory for role rejection then you have to use line item level rejection else it will not work.

If your requirement is to have line item rejection to ask for REJECTION comments even when 2040 is not enabled then you need to enhance and customize you access request approval webdynpro application events.
