Line item as to get copy from contract line items

Dear All Experts,

My client requirement is contract order containing sale items 10 ,20 ,30,40,50,60

when i create sales order they will select 30,40 ,50,60 line item with help of create with reference. Again they will add item 10.20 but in this case system is taking the line items as 70 ,80 .But our client requirement is to consider the same line item numbers which is present in sales contract

Could you please help us to reach this requirement.

Not possible in standard, sorry. Well, not unless the client agrees to use complete reference and reject the items or correct the quantities as needed for the specific order, but this is insane, and it is a partial solution.

Normally, I would say "speak with a developer", but in this case it may be good to speak with the business first - what is the problem that this change aims to solve? And, most importantly, what would you do if you need to have in the same release order the same contract item on two lines? It is a rare situation, but, for example, in a company where I worked, they split the quantities for mixed and full pallets in the order, because these were shipped from separate plants. What I am trying to say is that even if the chances of having two order items for the same contract item are very slim, you need to consider this in the new logic.

And it may turn out that this business requirement is just a whim, or that the business users need a bit more training, or a better report, or some printout adjustment (this is more common than it seems at first).
