Unable to edit the odata services in tcde SEGW Project

I need to add few more fields in the Project,

This was previously implemented project.

when I try to edit it says

'Editing Prohibited.

SAP delivered projects cannot be edited in your system' Please advice.

You should never ever modify a project delivered as standard. Decent way is to create an extension and (if necessary) redirect the service class to call your custom one.

Its Zproject not the SAP Provided one.

How to create Extension any doc for reference?

Wait... So this is a custom project and still you receive this message? That's odd. This error should only be displayed when you try to edit something that has 'SAP' as its original system in the object directory entry.

Could you provide a screenshot how you are attempting to edit it?

As far as I can see the project falls into a namespace. Is it registered in your system for modification?

in my company they are maintaing custom name space instead of regular z.

so my company all programs starts with /BM/zproject like this

/BM/ is common.

when I check SU53 it shows authorization check failed. I am able to create a new project but unable to edit project.

if we end up with an inconsistent SAP Project like this after implementing some notes:

What are we supposed to do? Should we raise an incident? Or are there any other means (report) to regenerate it?

how come SAP writes into its manual tasks of notes to generate and then activate SAP projects?

Because SEGW was not restricted before and you could generate and activate SAP Projects. Now, SEGW is restricted, so the notes should be changed.

Hi Satish,

SEGW is very challenging for maintenance. If you edit and regenerate any SAP Project, you will most likely experience issues with implementing SAP Notes. Therefore the editing and regenerating projects (delivered by SAP) were restricted. My apologies for that.

Here are two workarounds:

1) You still have an option to create your own projects, or make a copy of our projects.

OR

2) SEGW only creates ABAP classes and methods. So you still have an option to edit and change ABAP methods manually in SE80.

I have this custom project created by the developer and the project is moved to Production.Currently Share point able to extract data from SAP using this custom project say 'zproject'.

Now share point want to send data back to SAP . when I am trying to edit this Zproject I am having this problem.

So you are suggesting to create own project means, share point team need to have new link to access data right?

Since this is to 'CREATE' data we need to add additional fields in entity, editing methods wont help much in this scenario right.

are you assuming its SAP Delivered project? its a zcustom project.

Can you please reply, for a custom project why am I getting this error and also other point you mentioned SAP Notes, I dont think SAP

No SU53 failed authorizations spotted.

This is not SAP delivered SEGW project but the error is there:

'Editing Prohibited.

SAP delivered projects cannot be edited in your system'

Did you try to regenerate SEGW project in the system where it was originally created?
