Unit of Issue - Issue

Hi ,

Currently we are planning to alternate UOM for production consumption. Hence we maintained the unit of issue field in the work scheduling view and assigned the same UOM in BOM. Now the production transactions are happening in the alternate UOM.But we do not want the transfer postings , goods issue to cost center to happen based on the alternate UOM. We want those transactions to performed using the base UOM. Please share your thoughts.

Hi,

It is an SAP standard behavior.

If you mainitain the Unit of issue in Workscehduling or Plant data / stor 1 system allow to enter the alternative UOM in BOM and the same will be copied in production order component consumption.

While transfer posting, goods issue to cost center system defaults BT UOM but user manually changed to ML and post the transaction.

While transfer posting UOM to have defaulted from the base unit of measure then implement enhancement and write the custom logic.

I cannot maintain the alternate UOM in the BOM unless I set the unit of issue in work scheduling with the alternate unit.

Hi,

If you maintain the alternative unit of issue in the work scheduling view then consumption and other movements will happen as an alternative unit of issue and it is a standard SAP.

If you maintain it in BOM alternative UOM then it is applicable for that BOM explosion remaining will follow your base unit of measure.

Last option is an enhancement, if you are handling many records and not suitable option 2.

If you maintain the unit of issue only in BOM not in work scheduling view then it should work as you expected. Please test the same. Please refer F1 help of Unit of issue in work scheduling or Plant storage 1 view - In Inventory Management, the system proposes the unit of issue for goods issues, transfer postings, other goods receipts, and reservations.

So you have to maintain alternative UoM in material master in basic date view and BOM only. So it will be there in a production order unit of measure for component.

The base UOM is BT and the alternative UOM is ML.

Hello,

In that case you need to maintain unit of issue in work scheduling or plant storage view. As your UoM as not in same dimensions unit of measure. Else it would work for GM, KG like conversion.

However for 201 movement issue to cost center you can do that with base unit of measure. As Unit of Entry is open field it should accept unit as BT base UoM in MIGO or MB1A.
