v3 jobs in Operation data provisioning (ODP)

Hi,

With S4/ HANA as source system, and using ODP to pull data to BW/4HANA, for LIS extractors for e.g . 2LIS_13_VDITM or 2LIS_11_VAITM,

1. Are there setup tables used now when doing full load or init with data?

2. Are v3 jobs still used to schedule delta?

3. If no, how does ODP does ODP take delta and full?Not from LBWQ/extraction queues?

Hi Cleo,

ODP is a new extraction framework,it provides a better option of delta extraction into BW. But the overall way of extraction is still the same as before.

The main advantage of ODP in BW is, it allows to skip the PSA layer and load directly with DTP from the source system into BW.

Now coming to your questions:-

1. Yes, Set up table is used as before when doing full load or init with data.

In case of repair full/selective load, create new DTP with extraction mode as ‘FULL’ and run new DTP.

2. Yes, V3 Jobs are still used to Schedule delta.

3. ODP take delta after V3 Job run, which process data from LBWQ (Same as before).

Are V3 jobs still used?

Previously, my understanding was v3 jobs brought data (example for sales) from extraction queue (lbwq) to delta queue(RSA7).

Now does the V3 jobs push data from extraction queue (lbwq) to ODQ queues?

I went through

"Datasource 2LIS_02_ITM (Purchasing data (item level)) with delta type D (push):

• As this is delta type PUSH, the delta data records from the application are posted to the delta queue before they are extracted from ODQ as part of the delta update. If the DataSources are from the LO cockpit, this push takes place either with a direct delta (directly from the application, V1 – updating) or with a queued delta (from the application to the extraction queue (V1), and from there to ODQ with a collective run)."

This is kind of an explanation to what Prem Shanker has mentioned in point 2 & 3.
