Hi all,

we have some fixed assets that we need to retire. however it does not show up in the list of items in the retirement window. I have noticed that these items do not have quantities.. they were capitalized with an amount and zero quantity.
Does anyone know of a work around this?

Thank you
Jerusha

Hi Jerusha,

That's what I suspect that those items are inactive and that's the reason why they don't show up when you retire them.
I think they are inactive because they have already been retired or sold.
Go to the Fixed Assets>> General
and Fixed Assets>>Value
Just make sure you have the correct Fiscal Year.

It should show you some idea if they have been retired.
or you can run the FA history Sheet report also.

If they have been retired you can't activate them.

Hi Jerusha,

When you say retire, do you mean scrapping or selling?
FA retirement is of 2 types in SAP B1; however, it does not matter if you have a quantity or not activated in the master data.
If you have qty it basically just means that you have to supply the qty in the qty field of the retirement document. If not qty, then you input the estimated amount of the portion you want to retire (assuming partial retirement) or put the full amount,

Please check the General tab of the master data if the "Inactive" radio button is selected.

Cheers,
Eric

Hi Eric,
Thank you for the reply.

I mean retire with selling the items,
So those items that does not show on the choose from list are all marked as Inactive. However the Active button is greyed out, so i cannot make those items active again.

Thanks again,
Jerusha

Hello,

Please refer SAP note 1694998 - How to Delete Fixed Assets

It describes different scenarios regarding deleting or retiring fixed assets that can no longer be used which is for SAP Business By Design all versions.
