Duplicate Material Assignment with Specification occurs on new specification Creation. Please let me know how to stop this. If you have faced this before how did you avoid this?

Hello Devdatt,

Please be more price in your question: In a normal - meaning no customized system - no material is being assigned automatically to a specification.
What is the (custom?) process that assigns automatically materials - and the same material twice - to a specification?

Hello devdatt.khedekar,

If i understand your question correctly 2 Specification are assigned to the same material ?? and this is causing problem is that right? you want to put a check if the material is already assigned to one specification , it should not be again assigned to other specification.

You can control this via user exit, you can check the below user exit.

C1060001 |EHS: Variable Information on Material Assignment.

I hope it helps.

Thanks

Dear Satya

the purpose of the exit your are listing is different (according to SAP documentation). This exit is used in the "GUI" screen of ESTMJ in CG02/CG02BD; normally you would use it to show additional information coming from material master data)

But as any "exit" can be used as well little bit different (not really in relation to the "original idea") i can imagine that you can check the specification / material assignment story as well; but i would use a different option for this specific topic (as we have as well some BADIs in place which can be used)

Hello

there are some features installed in SAP EHS; if you use these features wrong you can generate a link of material "X" to REAL_SUB A and REAL_SUB B; but i believe this is not what you are doing.

Regarding your story: does that mean that "X" is assigned twice to the same REAL_SUB?

I can not 100 understand your issue
