Bex exception aggregration in SAP BI

Hello All,

I have created a formula F1 on a key figure and used exception aggregration as average on it and reference charcterstics as document no.,then I have created one more formaul F2 taking F1 as input asnd used exception aggregration as average and reference char as sales item. Also in both the formala and base key figure i have used "calculate result as average".

Now,If I drag the sales item and sales doc from free char in report then I am able to see the average values. If I don't ,I cant see the averages being populated. Is it mandatory to have reference chars in rows for exception aggregration to function?i cant bring sales doc,and sales item in rows as it will make the data set huge and its not the requirement.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this has an effect but you should not use "calculate result as average" anymore since you already have the exception aggregation as average.

Anyway, I think exception aggregation should work even if the reference chars are present or not.

Hi Ashish,

it´s actaully the idea of exception aggregation to be able to leave the exception chars out of the query.

did you define your key figures as global key figures?

maybe the order is wrong, maybe you need to do first an aggregation oder sales item, and afterwards over document number?
