SAP J2EE Engine/6.40 , 503 Service Unavailable

I was able to successfully install SAP Netweaver SP16, however I am unable to get to the portal due to the 503 Service Unavailable Error at http://localhost:50000

The web page itself says,

Application stopped.

Details: You have requested an application that is currently stopped

Does anyone have any ideas on how to check for errors, and what services I can check to see if it has started or not?
