Dear Colleagues,
I'm looking for additional information about product categories and hierarchies in hybris marketing.
Is there a schema or diagram showing the context?
Thank you!
Peter
Dear Peter,
In Hybris Commerce, products are managed as a hierarchy of categories. When integrating, these get integrated into Hybris Marketing .
We can for instance use the electronics store provided by SAP. For that store you will have a product hierarchy e.g. electronicsProductCatalog:Staged (for staging purposes) and when activated electronicsProductCatalog:Online (for real use).
Inside that product hierarchy, you can maintain your product categories.
For instance:
Goods ->Dress
->Shoes ->Black Shoes
->Brown Shoes
These would be all inside the hierarchy electronicsProductCatalog:Staged, and the Online version would contain the exact same.

Hi Peter,
let me add the following: Product Hierarchies can be loaded from Hybris Commerce and from any external source by means of CSV upload. You can even load multiple hierarchies into Marketing. However product hierarchies and categories are mainly used in the segmentation. Here you can segment for example for a certain product category, i.e. a particular node of the hierarchy, to figure out all customers which bought certain products of this category.
In 1705 it is planned that you can schedule offers which have certain product categories assigned. With this you would be able to schedule an email campaign and via the email, the campaign would offer all relevant products of this product category.
Kind Regards,
Josef

Hi Josef,
thank you!
Please let me add one further question: Does hybris Marketing provide an overview of all categories (including sub-, and sub-subcategories, ...) with their products? (e.g. treeview)
Is it possible to show all categories (and subcat.) in the correct hierarchy and all products in the segmentation? (Recursive representation of categories and products)
Kind regards,
Peter
