How to stop a Workflow which is sending unwanted reminder

We were doing a changing like adding a line item in PO but accidentally ended with creating a new PO,so we deleted the newly created PO.After 4 days we received escalation emails of that particular PO and we are getting the reminders again and again.How to stop it ?
