maxdb database copy

Hello!

What is the easiest and most simple way to "copy" an existing SAP ECC 5.0 MaxDB 7.5 built 28 "DEV" to a new instance "TST" ?

(The target system must have a different SID and instance number)

What I'm looking for is methods for copying/refreshing SAP/maxdb instances.

Regards,

Fredrik

    If I use the "Database Copy" method as described in this link:

    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/72/7ed43fb9490c65e10000000a114b1d/frameset.htm

    I still need to know how to change the SID and Instance number afterwards?

    • Hi Frederik,

      I asked around about your request and one of our installation colleagues pointed me to the following.

      A tool supported system copy does exist. This system copy consists of an export of the original system and an import in the target system. One can use either a DB backup/recovery or SAP R3Load for this purpose.

      More on this can be found here:

      http://service.sap.com/instguides SAP NetWeaver-> Release 2004s -> Installation, unter "2. SAP NetWeaver 2004s - Installation Documentation"

      There should be links there to documents concerning system copy-installations.

      I hope that helps.

      Kind regards,

      Roland
