SAP NetWeaver 7.52 SP04 Developer: sapinst errors and perms questions

A complete newbie here with some questions I can't seem to find the answers to.

My system seems to be up and running as per:

The concern is the errors in the bottom left quadrant:

Nov 14 11:49:12 debian sapinit[15305]: /etc/init.d/sapinit: 373: /etc/init.d/sapinit: cannot open =: No such file Nov 14 11:49:12 debian sapinit[15305]: /etc/init.d/sapinit: 373: /etc/init.d/sapinit: i: not found

Along with this, there are access issues for the /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/ .pse files which are not there as the logs state that the directory is inaccessible. They are root:sapsys perm'd at 751. AM not sure of the impact of this?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
