Documents/Attachments in Business partners

Hello SAP community,

currently I'm working on a document/attachment topic within SAP Business Partner.

Let me start with the issue:

The old (SAP ERP) world with leading customer/vendor objects allow you to attach documents (GOS) to each segment (basic data, company code, purchasing organization, sales organization) in the master data. Once it is attached to a specific segment it is not visible for the other segments.

With the business partner domain there will be a central object above customer and vendor master data. How is the segment assignment of the business partner? It is attached centrally over the business partner without any segment assignment?
